Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - It's officially November and my type A personality is already in holiday mode! To me the holidays mean travel, and travel means a huge headache especially with a toddler or an infant. Trying to cram everything in the car is usually a struggle with all of the bulky baby gear. We constantly struggle with transporting two major items: The pack and play/travel crib and the baby gate/playpen area.
I have recently had the opportunity to try out a brand new product that promises to be the easiest portable travel crib on the market, the JourneyBee . I thought I'd score it on a few criteria and share it with all of the mom's out there who are getting ready to tackle holiday travel season.
JourneyBee Travel Crib by ParentLab
Product Description: An innovative new travel crib that literally opens and closes in seconds and weighs just over 10 lbs. It's easy to carry, just fold and slide into the carrying case, sling over your shoulder and you're off. Bring it anyway, on vacation, at grandparents or even on the beach!
Value & Overall Impression: 5 out of 5
Carly's comments: This travel crib gets the Modern Day Mommy stamp of approval! Based on the travel crib I already own, I felt that the JourneyBee was a huge step up. It's is far easier to use, it looks cuter and is much more compact for travel purposes. For $149 I think it's a great value for the money and because of it's design it will grow with your baby from infant to toddler.
Overall Look: 5 out of 5
Carly's comments: When my JourneyBee arrived it was cute as can bee! Loved the pattern and design and it seemed cool without being babyish. It comes in four color combinations that are all adorable.
Overall Size: 4 out of 5
Carly's comments: I love this product because it is really compact in the sense that it lays completely flat. This is great because it makes it really easy to store or lie flat in the trunk of a car. Though it stores flat it does seem quite large in diameter, so some moms may feel the overall product size from a storage or transportation perspective it is too big. I feel that once you open the JourneyBee it is very spacious for your child which I loved because it can serve as both a travel crib and pack and play/safe area when out and about for holiday parties.
Easy Setup: 5 out of 5
Carly's comments:This travel crib lives up to it's promise. Literally you won't find anything easier to setup. Take it out of the bag and "violia!" it pops open and is immediately ready to go. LOVE IT!
Easy Tear Down: 2 out of 5
Carly's comments:This was the only thing I could figure out. I was able to get the crib collapsed and ready to put back into it's handy storage bag (with the help of the direction listed on the back of the crib) but I still can't figure out how to get the bag completely zipped. :-( My sister-in-law also had the same issue when she tried to pack it up after baby sitting my son.
How to get a JourneyBee: According to the parentlab website you can reserve a JourneyBee for the $149 price tag and have it just in time for the holidays. The website says estimated delivery is in November.
