Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - When I was pregnant with Easton, I started having Braxton Hicks contractions very early on and very often.   I was in a lot of pain and often very uncomfortable.  One night my husband came to me with an amazing gift he made himself- a rice sock soother.   Apparently he remembered this little trick from when he was a kid. Knowing my father-in-law, who loves to "repurpose" things I know exactly who created this idea.

So what is a rice sock soother?  It's a long tube sock, filled with rice and tied with a giant knot.   You pop it in the microwave and it will hold the heat for a very long time.   After using it once I constantly had this thing with me, even on the journey to the hospital.   It's nice because it molds very well around your belly, under your belly, on the small of your back, and even around your neck.  Watch the video for a quick tutorial.
