GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - Planning a spring break road trip? If so, here are a few tips for healthy eats on the go!

Making your own trail mix is a quick, easy and no-mess snack that can be customized for your family’s tastes. Pre-make sandwiches, then line them up back in the bread bag, this will keep you neat and organized while on the move. And lastly, when eating the in the car use small baking trays for kids’ laps. They’re inexpensive, easy to clean and store.

Healthy Trail Mix
(v/gf)
Makes 4 1/2 C

Ingredients:
1 C Almonds, raw (pecans, sunflower seeds)
1 C Mixed dried fruit, such as cranberries, raisons and apricots
1 C Coconut, dried
1 C Pretzels, gluten-free (or popcorn)
1/2 C Dark Chocolate Chips

Preparation:
Place all ingredients in to a medium mixing bowl and combine. Place in a sealed container or divide up and place in individual reusable containers/baggies for your road trip.
