Warm up this fall with a homemade mulled cider

Made with ingredients you most likely have on hand

Grand Rapids, Mich (WOTV) - Mulled cider is perfect for chilly autumn days. It’s so easy to make with ingredients you probably already have on hand. You’ll never settle for the pre-packaged version again!

Mulled Cider

(V/GF)

Makes 8 cups

 

2 Q Apple Juice, organic and unfiltered

1 Orange, sliced into rounds

1 t Cloves, whole

1 t Allspice berries

3 Cinnamon sticks

*optional: 1 t cardamom pods or 3 star anise pods

 

Preparation:

Pour apple juice into a saucepan. Add orange slices and spices. Simmer, strain and serve warm with one of the orange slices in each mug.

*Experiment with different spices and quantities to suite your taste.
