Margaux's herbed and spiced savory popcorn

An inexpensive, healthy and easy holiday snack

Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV)- - Whether you need a quick appetizer for a last minute holiday get together or you are just snuggled in with your family watching movies this week, give my Herbed and Spiced Savory Popcorn a try! Some call it "artisanal popcorn", but that sounds way too fancy for popcorn simply flavored any which way you would like! It's inexpensive, healthy, quick and easy. Does a snack get any better than that?

Herbed and Spiced Savory Popcorn
(V/GF)
Makes 10 cups

2 T Canola oil, Spectrum Organic
1/2 C Popcorn, Spartan brand

Preparation:
On a cook top, heat a medium sized saucepan slowly, add oil and heat it until warmed. Add popcorn and place the lid on the pan. Shake the popcorn until it is popped. Never walk away from cooking popcorn, it will burn every time! Immediately transfer cooked popcorn to a big bowl.

Wasabi Pea Popcorn
1 t EVOO, Full Circle Organic brand
2 C Wasabi Peas, Hapi Snacks brand*
3 C Cooked popcorn

Salt to taste

Preparation:
Place 1 cup of the wasabi peas in a blender and blend into a powder. Pour the EVOO into the bottom of a medium sized mixing bowl, add the wasabi pea powder, the remaining whole wasabi peas and the cooked popcorn. Toss to coat, salt to taste and place in a serving dish.

*There is a small amount of wheat flour in this product, if you are gluten-intolerant please use a wasabi powder to spice this version.

Buffalo Peanut Popcorn
1 t EVOO, Full Circle Organic
1 t Chili Powder, Full Circle Organic brand
1/2 t Cayenne Pepper, Full Circle Organic brand
1/2 t Garlic Powder, Full Circle Organic brand
1 C Peanuts, roasted and salted, Ferris brand
3 C Cooked popcorn

Salt to taste

Preparation:
Place oil and spices into the bottom of a medium sized mixing bowl. Add the peanuts and the cooked popcorn. Toss to coat, salt to taste and place in a serving dish.

Rosemary-Thyme Popcorn
1 t EVOO, Full Circle Organic
1 t Rosemary, Full Circle Organic brand
1 t Thyme, Full Circle Organic brand

1/2 t Garlic Powder
3 C Cooked popcorn

Salt to taste

Preparation:

Place oil, herbs and garlic into the bottom of a medium sized mixing bowl and add the cooked popcorn. Toss to coat, salt to taste and place in a serving dish.
