Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) -
Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV)- Before you send your ghosts and goblins out for an evening of trick-or-treating, fill their bellies with something substantial and FUN! Halloween is on a school night this year and that always makes for a hectic afternoon. Kids get home from school excited for the evening's activities and there isn't a lot of time to make and eat a full family meal when you are also on costume duty.
I've made these Mummy Dogs for the past few years and my kids as well as their friends, LOVE them! They're cute, easy to make and quick to eat. You'll have your trick-or-treaters fed and out the door in no time this year. Happy Halloween!

Makes 10 Mummies
1 Can Immaculate Baking Crescent Rolls
Olive oil
Mustard and/or ketchup
*All ingredients available at Harvest Health Foods-Cascade
Preparation:
-Heat oven to 375 degrees. Unroll dough and separate to create 4 rectangles, smooth perforations (using a bit of water if necessary) on each rectangle. Work with one rectangle of dough at a time and refrigerate others while not using. With a knife, cut each rectangle lengthwise into approximately 10 pieces or "bandages".
-Wrap the dogs with dough to create the mummies, leaving room for a face. Lay mummies to RIP on an ungreased cookie sheet. *Kids will love to help wrap a few!
-Brush bandages lightly with olive oil.
-Bake 13-17 minutes until mummies look golden brown.
-With mustard or ketchup bring your mummy to life by drawing a face. *Totally fun for kids, they really LOVE this part!
-Can be made ahead of time and kept in refrigerator until ready to bake.
-Serve with fresh cut veggies.
