Grand Rapids’ very own Molly Malaney (Molly Mesnick) is living the happily ever after fairytale since her recent marriage to the “Bachelor”.
Molly, a native of Grand Rapids met and fell in love with Seattle's Jason Mesnick on last season’s hit show “The Bachelor”. The two recently exchanged teary eyed vows in front of millions on the “Jason and Molly’s Wedding” special which aired on ABC.
I am a huge fan of the show, and was thrilled when Jason confessed his love to Molly. Malaney was a local favorite because of her sweet demeanor, and hometown roots linked to the Grand Rapids community.
Over one hundred and fifty attendees from Grand Rapids were part of the nationally televised ceremony! I had the opportunity to interview the two about the wedding, and how Grand Rapids played a large part of their big day.
Molly confessed that many of the wedding attendants were from West Michigan. “At least 50% of the attendees were from Grand Rapids." Two of the bridesmaids; Anne Sage and Sarah Lipski (Catholic Central alumni) along with Molly’s sister stood in the wedding.
When I asked Molly about a possible addition to the Mesnick family, Molly laughed and said “In the future we want to have more children. First we want to take a couple of years to settle down, and get back to normal.”
The two spend a lot of time here in West Michigan, as Jason said; “I’ve been there a lot, usually between Molly’s parent’s house, and the golf course.”
Molly also mentioned a possible Grand Rapids based celebration; “Were going to try to get back this summer and throw a party for those who couldn’t make it. And also thank those who came”.
A date hasn’t been set for when the two will be back in Molly’s hometown for a celebration. Molly also stated that she would be happy to do a hometown interview when she visits this summer.
On behalf of the West Michigan community, I would like to extend warm wishes and a lifetime of happiness to the new couple.
