Grand Rapids, Mich (WOTV) - Ladies and gentlemen...let’s get ready to rumble! On Friday September 9th, The Face of 4 Morgan Lind will be a celebrity boxer at the first annual Big Dog Tae kwon-do “Fight For A Cure”! Of course this wont be a real boxing match but will still be fun and entertaining as competitors attempt to knock out opponents with infallible boxing gloves. Other familiar faces attending the event will be Thunder 94.5’s Flounder and Morgan’s opponent Shelley Irwin of WGVU’s The Morning Show.
The “Fight For A Cure” will benefit cancer research at the Van Andel Institute and is a part of the Institute’s Community for a Cure initiative. The initiative brings communities together to raise awareness, celebrate survivors, honor loved ones who have passed, and support cancer research.
This event will also be held in memory of Jackie Menuck, aunt and longtime friend of Big Dog Tae kwon-do who lost her battle with cancer in July 2011 and in honor of Big Dog Tae kwon-do who have battled this terrible disease.
Among the entertainment and activities will be music featuring Flashback, food provided by El Barrio and refreshments by Forest Hills Foods. A silent auction will also be featured with items from a signed MSU football by coach Mark Dantonio to a kids apron from Carlo’s Bakery signed by famed Cake Boss Buddy Valastro. For a complete list of silent auction you can visit the Van Andel Institute’s website or the Fight For A Cure Facebook page.
So join in on the fun at Big Dog Tae kwon-do located on 28th St in Grand Rapids on Friday September 9th at 6:30pm and support the Van Andel Institute and your Face of 4 Morgan Lind!
