Grand Rapids, Mich (WOTV) - For families dealing with divorce, the holidays can be difficult. Help things go smoothly by having the kids contact the other parent every day.

If child care is needed during the holidays, make sure the other parent is your first choice to ask.

For families vacationing at an unusual location, be sure to let the other parent know how to reach you.

Finally, try to make time to have a holiday celebration all together. If not then create a structured schedule and alternate holiday yearly.
