Grand Rapids, Mich (WOTV) - To file for divorce when you or your spouse are active military, you will have to file in the state and country where the military enlistment occurred- even if it’s not where you currently live.

Many enlisted personnel file for divorce while overseas by hiring an attorney that is located in the country they enlisted in and completing all requirements over the phone or internet.

Consult a family law attorney to ensure you meet all the criteria necessary.
