Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Do you know what constitutes domestic violence and abuse?

Many women think that domestic violence is when they are physically harmed by their spouse.  Repeatedly screaming at  you, belittling you and attacking your self-esteem and controlling you through intimidation, fear, shame, guilt and violence are all versions of domestic violence.  It doe not discriminate between sex, age, ethnicity or economic level.  Domestic violence should not happen to anyone.  Not ever.  Not once.  It is not ok and it is not your fault.
