Warm winter chocolate treats

Simple recipes for kids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - 16 year old Katie Hollstein loves to cook and bake. This week she shared three of her favorite chocolate recipes with Maranda. They are all simple to make and the perfects treat to warm you up on a cold winter day.

White Hot Chocolate
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1 small splash of vanilla extract
2 dashes of cinnamon
Whisk together in a saucepan over medium to low heat until melted together.

Peppermint Hot Chocolate
1 cup milk
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
2 tbs crushed peppermint
Whisk together in a saucepan over medium to low heat until melted together.

Nutella Mug Cake
4tbs self rising flour
4tbs sugar
3tbs cocoa powder
3tbs milk
3tbs vegetable oil
3tbs Nutella
1 egg
Mix ingredients together in mug and microwave for 1:30-2:30.
