Air Zoo launches homeschool days

The Air Zoo is launching new 2012-2013 Homeschool Discovery Days, which are interactive programs designed specifically for homeschooled children ages 5-12.

Homeschool Discovery Days are held once a month throughout the school year.  Each multi-disciplinary program has an emphasis on activities related to aviation and space.  Students will explore these subjects through fun and fascinating hands-on activities.  Upcoming Homeschool Discovery Days include:

Nov. 6, 2012: Marbles, It’s a Game of Science!
10-11:30am
For Kindergarten-2nd graders
The concept of motion and the laws that govern it are introduced in a creative and fun hands-on approach. Kids will learn about inertia, matter and molecules in this timeless game.

Nov. 6, 2012: The Phenomenon of Sound
1-2pm
For 3-6th graders
Children will investigate the science of sound as a form of energy that travels in waves and different mediums. Lab stations will allow a variety of sound waves to be observed and students will record personal findings.
