GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - So often parents are concerned about their child's development, if they are on track and how they are progressing. One of the most important things that parents can do to progress their child's physical and emotional skills is just let them play!

Cognitive benefits include:
    Creativity
    Abstract thinking
    Imagination
    Problem-solving
    Building self-confidence and a positive self-esteem

Social development skills include:
    Cooperation
    Sharing
    Conflict resolution
    Leadership skill development

Physical and language development include:
    Gross and fine motor experiences
    Vocabulary
    Story telling
    Emergent literacy

The Grand Rapids Children's Museum is committed to celebrating the joy of play by providing an interactive, hands-on environment that inspires learning and encourages self directed exploration. It's the perfect place for all ages to just hang out and play together. Located at 11 Sheldon Ave. NW in downtown Grand Rapids, the Grand Rapids Children's Museum features several permanent and traveling exhibits that let kids be kids and explore, make a mess, be silly and have a great time.

The Grand Rapids Children's Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and cost is $7.50 per person for unlimited play! Get more information online at www.grcm.org.
