Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - If your child is a high school junior or senior, it's time to seriously start thinking about college!

1. The most important thing you can do for your child is stay involved. Encourage your son or daughter to research and apply, but don't do the work for them! The more time they invest in the process, the more exciting the outcome will be.

2. Plan college visits during mid-winter break, or spring break. Keep a journal with a list of pros and cons for each school you visit.

3. Have your student explore scholarship opportunities.

4. Lastly, get excited! This is a stressful time of year for students, so focus on the positives and get ready for a change.
