TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WOTV) - Alex Olin is a fifth grader in Traverse City, Michigan. His attends his local public school where he enjoys running cross country and track as well as playing the piano and acting.

The year after second grade, Alex changed schools. At an end of the year conference with the teachers, his parents were surprised to hear Alex described as “the rockstar” of fourth grade. They asked Alex how he was able to go from the new kid in the school to being popular, what is in his book is what was his response.

"A 5th Grader's Guide to Becoming Popular in Elementary School" gives you Alex's perspective on what to say, do, and wear in order to make friends and be cool in elementary school. Covers topics like introducing yourself to new friends, managing embarrassment, dealing with bullies, standing out, girls, and even politics.

Alex's book is available on Amazon and has received rave reviews with five out of five stars from readers.
