300,000 lights, strolling carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides and 42 international trees and displays. Frederik Meijer Gardens is decking their halls and getting ready for their 18th year of Christmas and Holiday Traditions Around the World.
The Frederik Meijer Gardens will be filled with beautiful trees decorated with themes from countries around the world. See how different cultures celebrate the holidays and learn about unique traditions honored.
The focus of this year's exhibit is on the Railway Garden, a unique horticultural display that incorporates garden design, miniature buildings made from natural materials, and model trolleys and trains that delight guests of all ages. The Railway Garden will drive through 15 iconic Grand Rapids landmarks including iconic buildings like the Meyer May House, Voigt House, Paddock Place (now Mangiamo!), Jersey Junction and Fifth Third Ballpark, bringing the total building count to more than 30 local landmarks.
The exhibit will also continue outside with holiday activities taking place in the Lena Meijer Children's Garden. The fun begins on Monday, November 20. For a complete schedule of exhibit events as well as hours and rates, visit www.meijergardens.org.
