GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - With family's busy schedules it can be hard to sit down to a nice healthy dinner each night. Meijer Healthy Living Adviser, Shari Steinbach, has two quick pasta recipes that take minutes to prepare, taste delicious, and will give you no excuse to not enjoy a great dinner as a family.
Light Alfredo with Pasta and Vegetables
-Cook one pound of whole wheat pasta.
-Prepare a low fat Alfredo sauce and combine with the pasta.
-Add in 1 cup of frozen peas and 1/2 cup of cubed ham.
Simple Salmon Pasta
-Cook 8 ounces of whole wheat pasta.
-Combine with one can of red salmon, 1/4 cup of toasted pine nuts, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 3 cups of arugula.
