GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) - Parent-Teacher conferences are an important part of our children’s education. Here are 4 tips to make the most of your meeting:

1. Be on time. Most schools run a tight schedule during conferences so arrive promptly and try not to go beyond your allotted time slot.

2. Be prepared. Make a list of questions you want to ask before the meeting so you can take advantage of the time you have with your child's teacher.

3. Be Positive.  Remember to begin and end on a positive note.

4. Be Open. And lastly, don't forget to talk with your child before and after the meeting. Share with your child what you talked about, offer to help with learning at home, and be open to his or her suggestions
