Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - Fall is here and that means new seasonal items in the store. Clearance signs and sale are popping up all around and many stores are also offering additional discounts on top of already reduced prices to make room for new merchandise. Here are the five things you should buy this fall to save money vs buying them at full price later.
Patio/Outdoor Furniture and Accessories - With many stores already up to 75% off the selection is thinning out fast, but there's still a lot available. Everything from chairs and tables to outdoor decor can be purchased and left in the box until next spring.
Summer Basic Clothing - Camisoles, shorts, skirts and clean classic office pieces that can be added to trendier selections next year. Get these basics now for pennies on the dollar and tuck them away for a warm winter day or when you need a little pick me up and want something new. Current offers include up to 75% off Chico's, 70% off at Macy's, $70 off a purchase of $150+ at New York and Company and great blowouts from Group and Daily Deal sites . M eijer has bathing suit pieces for as low as $1.00 and 25% off already reduced clearance that is being reported locally.
Gardening Goods - Seed starter trays, seed packets (that can be stored in a cool, dry place), gloves, tools and really anything else you can still find. Being so far past the start of gardening season, some stores - like Dollar General - have items marked down as much as 90%.
Cars and Vehicle Accessories - The new models are rolling out and just like a retail store, car lots are trying to make space for new products. As the 2013 editions roll in, you will see more discounts and incentives on the 2012 models. Plus, accessories in auto stores start to drop this time of year before going back up as Christmas gets closer.
Household Decor - Heading into the holiday season stores are making room for Christmas themed items and will transition to a whole new stock come January. We see big discounts on throw pillows, candles and linens.
