ABC's Jimmy Kimmel moves up to play with the big dogs!

Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - He’s one of the most influential and hilarious men in late night television. Jimmy Kimmel has been working the late night crowd for over a decade and is now moving up to play with the big boys. His late night show; "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is on the move starting January 8, 2013.  The late-night show shifts from midnight to 11:35 p.m. on WOTV4.

 

Though the show moves up a mere half hour, the time slot is one of the biggest jumps of his television career. To help christen the new time slot, "JKL" has a star-studded guest line-up to heat up the show. Guests are to include; Jennifer Aniston, Ryan Gosling, Sofía Vergara, Ellen DeGeneres, Rob Lowe, Jamie Foxx, Mark Wahlberg, Amy Brenneman, Nicki Minaj, Mindy Kaling, Julie Bowen, Naomi Watts, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, plus musical performances by No Doubt, Brad Paisley, Bruno Mars, LeAnn Rimes and more.

 

On average for the 2012-13 season, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is up over 7% in Total Viewers (1.985 million vs. 1.854 million), marking its biggest-ever audience through this point in a broadcast year. "JKL" is the only late-night network talk show to grow its overall audience year over year. Fresh off the most watched November Sweep in the show's 10-year history. If that’s not enough to bring the big bills rolling in for the late-night star, the "JKL" show also scored its biggest audience for any sweep period in the franchise's history.

 

On January 7, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" will air at 12:00 a.m. for the last time with a special episode entitled "'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Goodbye to Midnight," in which Kimmel will look back some of the most memorable and popular moments from the show's 10-year history. January 26, 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

 

It’s no secret that the show is in a league of its own. Every night Kimmel delivers the latest news and pop culture topics while welcoming such notables as Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise, Robert Pattinson, Katy Perry, Will Farrell, Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Charlize Theron, John Krasinski, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Justin Bieber, Jessica Simpson, Kate Beckinsale, Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, Andy Samberg, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron, Charlie Sheen, Chris Pine, Jeremy Renner, Jada Pinkett Smith, Josh Brolin, Russell Brand, Woody Harrelson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. 

 

"Jimmy Kimmel Live," which currently airs weeknights at midnight is moving to its new time slot of 11:35 p.m. beginning January 8, 2013. The show’s unique location has allowed for Kimmel to regularly interact with the local "Super Heroes" parading along the boulevard and challenging passersby to participate in various comedy bits.

 

He has also created many one-of-a-kind concert experiences, which have closed down the Hollywood streets around his studio with musical block party events with artists such as Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Depeche Mode, as well as special outdoor and lobby performances by Adele, Linkin Park, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Tony Bennett, Pitbull, Britney Spears, Lady Antebellum, Usher, Lenny Kravitz, Brad Paisley, Lil Wayne, Phoenix, 50 Cent, No Doubt and Dave Matthews Band.

 

With his endearing grin and impressive numbers on the rise, he may be sending the other “big dogs”; Leno and Letterman to the pound.
