Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - The JW Marriott was transformed into a contemporary baseball stadium, complete with baseball inspired cuisine, pitching machines, and marching band. The fourth annual Philanthropic Birthday Bash for Tommy FitzGerald was the Grand Juice Ball. As the doors opened, eager guests were ready in their baseball inspired attire. Tommy entered the ballroom leading a marching band as Mayor George Heartwell threw the opening pitch to me.
The philanthropic aspect of Juice Ball is a party-style FUNdraiser. The bash helped introduce Kitchen Sage, the brainchild of Tommy and a newly developed non-profit whose mission is to provide access to nutrition and culinary awareness to children in West Michigan.
This year's Juice Ball raised funds for Kitchen Sage, which includes Tommy's long-standing goal of donating a quarter of a million juice boxes to Kids Food Basket.
Thanks to Tommy FitzGerald for his continuous effort in supporting local children in the fight against hunger.
Happy Birthday, Tommy! Well played!
