Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - Saturday at Living Well -- Grand Rapids , a new health and fitness show, is a day packed with action.
Of course, attendees can meet with 100+ exhibitors or take in dozens of free seminars, but Saturday at the show also offers a range of ways for people to get their hearts pumping and their muscles burning.
"We're encouraging people to wear workout clothes to Living Well," says Show Manager Dawn Baker. "We hope everyone takes advantage of at least one of the many opportunities to get active."
Those opportunities begin even before the show opens at 10am, with a 5k training run through downtown Grand Rapids. The event is organized by For The Run Of It, a Grand Haven-based running group that caters mainly to beginning runners. The run will begin at 8am, with runners meeting in the lobby of DeVos Place, and all participants get free admission to the show.
At 9am, Michelle Fife, owner of Seva Yoga and WOTV 4 Women's Wellness Expert , will lead what is being billed as Grand Rapids' Largest Yoga Class , also at DeVos Place. Register here for the class, which is free with paid admission to the show, and receive via email a coupon good for two dollars off an adult ticket.
Finally, from 10am -- 2pm on Saturday, the Step Up, Sign Up event offers people a chance to take an action step toward healthier lives by registering right at the show for a wide variety of the area's best fitness runs, charity walks, bike tours, triathlons, kids' sports, and much more.
Additionally, attendees can get active almost anytime during the two days of the show by joining ongoing sessions of Zumba, Pilates, TurboKick, WERQ, bodyGroove, boxing, R.I.P.P.E.D., and more. And, intrepid winter bikers who ride to the show will receive a free bike tune-up, courtesy of Central District Cyclery.
So get up, get out, and get active at Living Well -- Grand Rapids on Saturday.
Discounted tickets are available at area Meijer stores.
