Grand Rapids, Mich (WOTV) - Here comes Halloween. Its the day after I start another 28 Day detox with Healthy Eats expert Margaux Drake. But aside from my own dietary concerns, I am not a huge fan of Halloween treats like sugary candies. In search of Healthier options to pass out this year here is my short list and many of these I have eaten and LOVE. I think the kids will too.

1. Funky Monkey Snacks- These prepackaged treats are freeze dried fruit. The process has made these snacks tasty and crunchy while retaining all of their natural goodness. Gluten free, dairy free, nut free and safe for everyone to enjoy. Funky Monkey comes in 7 fun flavors like Purple Funk, MangOJ and Bananamon.

2. Honey and Sesame Crunch Candy - An extra-sweet, but still healthy treat. Three pieces contain 60 calories, 1 gram of protein and just 7 grams of sugar. I love these and one piece will satisfy your sweet tooth.

3. Stretch Island Fruit Snacks- Like their all natural fruit strips or FruitaBu. These snacks are all organic and all natural. These snacks even qualify as USDA servings of fruit, like whole fruit, not fruit juice. I always have some of these on hand at home to grab running out the door also makes great travel food. Tastes like fresh fruit!

4. Organic Bug Bites- Sometimes you just need chocolate. These organic bug bites are just the thing. Prepackaged, just the right size to fill the chocolate crave. My favorite is the Organic Dark. Endangered Species Chocolate donates 10% of net profits to environmental non-profits that are focused on wildlife conservation and habitat preservation. The company also practices ethical and fair trade policies. So really now, you are doing a good thing eating this chocolate right?
