Grandma's doilies get DIY transformation

Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - It's safe to say that after years of a bad rap, doilies are back in style! Lace is huge in fashion and that same handmade, shabby chic feel is becoming popular in home design…which is really kind of crazy as our great grandma's doilies have been piling up in antique stores for years!

I have some of my own in a closet that have been handed down- never had the heart to pitch them (by ''pitch" I mean donate!) because they're so beautifully handmade, but no way did they fit in with my more modern decor. Thanks to the new wave of crafty love in decorating, you'll see sweet doilies adding a layer of texture to any style when reworked in a fresh way. They're also most excellent as design elements for wedding decor!
