Grand Rapids, Mich (WOTV) - You’ve heard of solid wood, wood veneers, but do you know the difference? I’ll clear some things up. Solid wood offer stability: what you see is what you get. It is easy to repair surface damages. You will find simpler, cleaner designs with solid woods.

Lets get one thing straight- Veneers are wood, contrary to what you might have heard. They are pieces of wood that are bonded together by another piece of wood, like plywood. You will see more details in veneer woods that solid wood pieces. The veneer construction offers extra strength and a more stable surface that should not crack or warp which could happen naturally with solid woods.

So, the choice is yours!
