Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - What’s trending seems to be pointing to a simpler, cleaner and more efficient life style. We are looking for greener and more sustainable designs. Creating a healthier environment, free of toxins and harsh chemicals are part of the top trend. We are taking advantage of federal and state incentives to enhance our homes energy efficiency and overall performance. We have embraced low VOC and chemical free products to improve our indoor air quality as we tighten our homes.
Color palettes are trending to less contrast with more of a charcoal, instead of black, along with blends of chocolate, grey along with a touch of green. The bold accent colors remain very strong with this years “color of the year” being Emerald Green. We’re seeing more of a soft silky palette along with those pops of color when we want to add personality to our space.
The hot trending products are:
Large single bowl sinks in kitchens
Quartz composite countertops
Repurposing whatever you can
Pre-finished wood flooring
Glass/stone tile mosaic composites
Glass panel backsplashes
Step saving electronics
More contemporary cabinet styles
We are looking for products and solutions with durability and low maintenance in mind. Spaces that are more user friendly, where all areas can be easily utilized by young and old alike with purpose and safety in mind. We are working on removing clutter and simplifying our lives, at least at home. Creating a sanctuary of our own that functions, looks and feels the way we envision without being demanding is the goal and that’s the trend.
