GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) - Boost your home's value by choosing a remodeling project that will give you the most bang for your buck. There are four projects that will give you the biggest return on your investment - your bathroom, kitchen, a stunning entryway and new windows.

BEAUTIFUL BATHROOMS do-it-yourself projects include painting, new faucets, accessories and shower heads, towel bars, shower curtains, maybe a new vanity and sink if the plumbing doesn’t need any attention. . Depending on your level of comfort, install-it-yourself or professionally installed flooring has a great return on investment.

CLASSY KITCHEN do-it-yourself projects again include painting, high-arch pull down style faucets, accessories, new hardware if you’re not replacing the cabinetry and the best Energy Star appliances your budget can handle. Counter tops and flooring depend on your level of comfort and expertise. There are some wonderful new sophisticated looks in lower priced laminate and maybe splurge on a solid surface for an island. Tile is trending for kitchens; if your budget can’t handle it, there are ceramic tile look laminates that can fool even the experts.

ENVIOUS ENTRY projects include a power wash of the porch and siding, replacing crumbling cement (steps or porch), possibly new outdoor furniture and certainly landscaping.  If your entry door is in good condition, a fresh coat of paint or stain is in order. Replacing screen doors is also a good idea.  If your entry door isn’t very energy efficient, let the experts install a paintable fiberglass door, which resists denting and scratching and is easy to maintain.

WONDERFUL WINDOWS are probably best left to the professional. Vinyl windows will probably be your most reasonably priced option. Vinyl windows resist rotting and don’t require repainting. You’ll enjoy an immediate pay off in terms of increased comfort, lower utility bills and increased curb appeal, while potentially adding significant resale value to your home.

The professionals at Standale Interiors will be happy to show you all the options and help you work within your budget and time frame.  Remember, be creative and have fun because this is for you!
