GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - In late July I noticed a posting on Facebook from Gerald Rogers, a motivational speaker. He was listing the advice that he wished he had known before his marriage fell apart. Since that posting, it has gone viral and even the Huffington Post has written about his heartfelt advice. It starts out by saying, "Never stop courting, never stop dating". He goes on to list all of the things that he should have done to grow his relationship with his wife and keep his marriage strong. It is great advice for both husbands and wives and obviously touched a nerve with readers of his post.
We are all so busy with careers, kids, chores, etc., that we often forget to take care of our relationships until we are in danger of losing it. One of the primary reasons that women tell us they are filing for divorce is that their husbands are not present, either physically or emotionally. They are not participating in the family and not making their wife feel like they have a partner who has her back and loves her unconditionally.
If you haven't seen Mr. Roger's posting, it is worthwhile to read it, think about it and then pass it on to your husband or significant other.
