GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) - We all know that divorce is especially difficult for children and it takes a while for them to adjust. In custody disputes the court evaluates what's best for the child including a stable and continuous environment for your kids.
If you're going through a divorce you may be ready to move on to a new relationship right away, but your children may not. In custody disputes the court will evaluate the best interest of the children, making sure they are in a stable environment. Having your new boyfriend move in right away could send a red flag to the judge that a stable and continuous environment does not exist – which may affects who gets custody. So, until the ruling is final – put the move on hold.
