GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) - People in the Forest Hills Community, especially students, have been working on a unique ArtPrize entry, 7000 Leaves of Love. Maranda visited Pamela Jasperse in her art classroom to check out all the work students have been doing. They're getting everyone involved, from grade school to middle school all the way up to the Forest Hills high schoolers. The younger students have each created a clay leaf that they have decorated, each representing a person they have helped.
Ceramic birds have also been created that will be gift wrapped and placed in locations all over Kent county with the hope that the finder will return them to the venue. The lucky find will be documented and celebrated upon their arrival. For more info on this spectacular entry, go to www.artprize.org/fhps/2013/7-000-leaves-of-love.
Students at Forest Hills Central have worked together for years to raise money for Van Andel Institute.
