One of the best New Year resolutions we can make is to plan to eat more meals at home with our family. The benefits are many and you will actually save time and money while eating healthier!
However, while most shoppers tell me they want to prepare healthier meals for their family, they are in need of simple ideas and assistance to make mealtime easy. This is the reason why our team of Healthy Living Dietitians developed the Easy Meals Healthy Families guidebook. The book discusses the importance of family mealtime, cooking tools and tips, nutrition basics, and provides many simple meal ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Here is one of my favorite soup supper recipes from the book:
Tomato-Cheese Ravioli Soup
1 (14.5 oz.) can Meijer stewed tomatoes
1 (14.25 oz.) can low sodium chicken broth
½ tsp. McCormick Italian seasoning
3 cups Meijer frozen cheese ravioli
1 small sliced zucchini
¼ tsp. pepper
Combine tomatoes, broth, and Italian seasoning. Simmer 5 minutes then add ravioli, zucchini and pepper. Bring to a boil, and simmer 8 more minutes. Serve with a glass of low fat milk and a whole grain baguette. Enjoy!
