GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - The Fifth Third River Bank Run promotes a positive message of health and fitness to everyone in the family, including children. The Fifth Third River Bank Run offers a special program to 50,000 elementary school kids in Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa and Van Buren counties called the Feelin' Good Mileage Club.
Starting March 18, kids began participating in this free, incentive-based running program that gets kids moving on their recess and lunch hour. Students in grades K-6 get healthier while having fun by running, jogging or walking. Kids log their miles and win fun prizes like keychains, toe-shaped charms and other incentives from sponsors who participate.
Plus, each student who logs five miles or more during the course of the club receive a free entry into Fifth Third Junior on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Wyoming High School. On May 8, kids can choose to participate in the 1/2 mile or 1 mile fun runs at 5:30 p.m., or for students in grades 4-6, there is a 5K run at 6:30 p.m.
Fifth Third Junior is also open to siblings, friends or anyone else that wants to run. To register for the event, click here for an entry form.
