HOLLAND, Mich. (WOTV) - Cuban refugee, Fabio Martin, came to the United States three years ago with his family and settled in Holland, Michigan. After enrolling at West Ottawa High School, he was assigned to the elective class Fashion Design. At first he was not interested, but decided to give it a try. Little did he know he would fall in love with fashion design and clothing construction.
One class has lead Fabio on the path to a career in fashion design. He has created gowns for fellow students to wear, he is enrolled to attend the Art Institute of Chicago and was recently recognized by "Seventeen" magazine for his design work!
Maranda met up with Fabio and his instructor to preview some of his work (see video above).
