GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) - New education laws are in the works and they are affecting West Michigan Schools. Maranda has a panel discussion with Larry Fisher (Dean of Student Life at West Michigan Aviation Academy ), Heidi Cate (IES Supervisor/Special Education Director), and Dr. Kyle Mayer (Superintendent of Instructional Services at OAISD ) about the changes happening in your area schools. Basically, schools are changing the way students will be applying the information they learn. Instead of putting focus on memorization and a child being able to regurgitate it verbatim, homework and tests will focus on practical application of concepts.
