GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - After months of construction, the John Ball Zoo is debuting their latest renovation project, the Meijer Grizzly Bear exhibit. The new exhibit allows the public to get closer than ever before to these amazing animals and gives the two bears more room to roam and play.
Some of the exhibits featured include:
-Logs and boulders for the bears to lean against, scratch on and climb.
-A pool and waterfall that provides a natural way for the bears to stay cool and clean.
-Drinking water from fountains around the exhibit.
-Mesh fencing allowing air to circulate freely and bring in interesting scents.
-A training gate that allows keepers easy access to add enrichment.
-Dirt pits around the exhibit that allows the bears to enjoy their favorite activity.
-Different levels in the exhibit that give the bears a choice of vantage points.
