GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - If you're one of the 21,000 participants in Saturday's Fifth Third River Bank Run , the first thing you need to remember race morning is get downtown early. All the streets near the start and finish line close as early as 5:30 a.m. Give yourself plenty of time to find a parking spot and get to the starting line.
Pre-race aid stations will be available near the start line with water and power gels if you need to hydrate or grab extra fuel before the race.
When you reach Monroe look for the staging area for your specific race. Look for the pacers carrying large pace time signs and line up using the runner shoots. The races kick off at the following time:
7:20 a.m. 5k run
8:00 a.m. 10k
8:10 a.m. Handcyclists and wheelchair division
8:20 a.m. 25k
8:45 a.m. 5k community walk
For more pre-race tips for runners, walkers, wheelers and spectators, tune in to "Maranda: Where You Live" on Friday at 7 p.m. for a special Fifth Third Bank River Run edition. WOTV will be broadcasting live from DeVos Place where the Sports and Fitness Expo is taking place.
