GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - Upbeat music, energetic cheers and overall spirit. If this sounds like your school's cheer leading squad, than the Fifth Third River Bank Run needs your help!
Each year the Fifth Third River Bank Run 25K course is lined with motivational volunteers that cheer on runners as they pound the pavement logging 15.5 miles towards the finish line. The Fifth Third River Bank Run is looking for 10 high school cheer leading squads that can get decked out and show their spirit on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
Squads will be assigned a cheer station and are encouraged to be creative; motivating runners with smiles, cheers, music, signs, banners and more. Spirit stations will be judged by race officials and undercover runners and the top three stations will be awarded cash scholarships for their school's program. First place receives $500, second place receives $300 and third place receives $200.
There is no cost to participate, just a commitment from 6:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8. Applications are being accepted now through Wednesday, May 1. Click here to apply.
