Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - There's no better way to celebrate The American Cancer Society's 100th Birthday than with a cupcake competition! The American Cancer Society invites you Finish The Bite-A Cupcake Competition.
Stroll and taste delectable delights, sample at the grilling stations, and indulge in the splendor of savory sweet treats! Bring your sweet-tooth and sample cupcakes from bakers across West Michigan and help celebrate with our community.
"We are helping people focus on getting well by providing resources throughout a cancer journey, such as rides to treatment, a free place to stay during treatment, or support programs to help people cope with side effects", says Evelyn Barella, Media Relations Specialist for the American Cancer Society. "We are finding cures through research to help find the causes of cancer and better ways to treat it so that more people can survive the disease."
"This is the perfect time to create an event for an amazing organization that I have had the pleasure of working with as food and beverage chair for the past five years, " says Bob Johnson (Bobby J) of West Michigan Caterer. "It's a way to leave a legacy for ACS . All of the money stays in our community and this is a lead up to our big fundraiser, Discovery Ball, on November 7, 2013."
"Thanks to the dollars raised by Discovery Ball and Finish the Bite cupcake competition supporters, the American Cancer Society is saving lives and helping more people facing cancer celebrate more birthdays . says Barella. Come and take a bite and help West Michigan finish the fight against Cancer.
Tickets will also i nclude your vote for The Peoples Choice winner, which means the more you taste, the easier it will be to judge! It's a tough job, but someone needs to do it! Terri DeBoer of WOOD TV8, Bob Johnson of West Michigan Caterer, and Jason Kakabaker from The Cakabakery will serve as judges and host the evening's festivities.
