Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - Every child deserves a loving family to call their own. For many this is not the case. Thousands of children are placed in multiple foster homes and orphanages without ever feeling they have a family of their own. This weekend, there's a fun way for the entire family to help.
Team Orphans is an exciting 5K run & walk at Robinette's Apple Haus. The unique run is open to everyone and is fun for the whole family. Run or walk the 5K, or simply walk just a mile. You'll be stepping toward a great cause, and a sweet treat (cookie) at the finish! Every dollar raised is used to provide grants to adopting families through various agencies including Bethany Christian Services and Brittany's Hope Foundation .
Bethany is all about kids in families. Bethany Christian Services serves children of all ages to help provide children with loving families. Services include family support and preservation, adoption, foster care, pregnancy counseling, training, refugee services, sponsorship, and infertility ministry.
Team Orphans aims to help abandoned children by competing in their honor. Whether you're a single athlete or a group running together, each runner will team up to bring children home to their forever families! It's fun and easy! Individual cost is $20 to participate, and families are $60. All Team Orphans donations help provide adoption grants for families bringing special needs children home.
