Grand Rapids, Mich. - Girls Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore is teaming up with Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids for Every Dress Has a Story! Goodwill Industries is helping you clear your closet of special dresses that may help someone else create lasting memories.
Bring your dresses to Goodwill Stores starting now through November 9, and Goodwill will collect dresses on behalf of Every Dress Has a Story initiative. Or, bring your bags to selected Goodwill Stores (Cascade Store, Michigan St. Store, Rockford Store, Big Rapids Store) on November 9 for the official dress drive day.
The campaign will help Goodwill continue its mission of providing job training and placement services to those in need. Participating Girl Scouts will receive a special badge while continuing with community service and leadership skills.
Goodwill is looking for dresses of any size, style and color. From sundresses and maxi-dresses, to minis and prom dresses. Matching jewelry, shoes and purses are also welcome.
Share your dress’ story! Post a photo and story about your dress on social media with the hashtag (#EveryDress). Share the “Every Dress Has a Story!” Initiative by sharing the website: http://www.gsmists.org/Get-Involved/Dress-Drive
