GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) - 'Finish the Bite' cupcake competition was the perfect way to celebrate the American Cancer Society's 100th birthday. There were sweet and savory desserts and a lot of taste testing. 'Finish the Bite' is a pre-event fundraiser to support the American Cancer Society's premiere birthday bash-which is happening Thursday, November 7, 2013.
"Thanks to the dollars raised by Discovery Ball and Finish the Bite cupcake competition supporters, the American Cancer Society is saving lives and helping more people facing cancer celebrate more birthdays", says Evelyn Barella, Media Relations Specialist for the American Cancer Society.
The event took place at West Michigan Caterer located at Centennial Country Club from 6:00-9:30PM on May 22. Bob Johnson (Bobby J) of West Michigan Caterers says, "This is the perfect time to create an event for an amazing organization that I have had the pleasure of working with as food and beverage chair for the past five years ...It's a way to leave a legacy for ACS . All of the money stays in our community and this is a lead up to our big fundraiser, Discovery Ball, on November 7, 2013."
The event was a total success, raising a lot of money for the American Cancer Society and their premiere birthday bash.
