Grand Rapids, Mich. (WOTV) - It was all about fashion, fun and a fab time at the Goei Center on Wednesday night. Guests enjoyed a live art demonstration by Reb Roberts, silent auction, live music from Bennett, and strolling hors d'oeuvres from Panera Bread.
Media personalities, community leaders and adorable little ones hit the runway to benefit the Dwelling Center. The runway show was not only about fashion, but a runway to hope for women in our community taking the first step to a fresh start.
Models included Matt Kirkwood of WOOD TV8, Shelley Irwin of WGVU NPR, Ryan Slusarzyk of Amway Hotel Corporation and Commissioner Rosalynn Bliss-just to name a few. Wardrobe was provided by Snapdragon Botique, Leigh's and Fitzgerald's Men's Store, with styling perfected by the Jefferey Richard Salon.
The benefit, There's No Place Like Home-Where Fashion Meets Art went to support Liz's House and Bridge Street Place, the housing communities of Dwelling Place. Through community support, the Dwelling Place continues to offer services to women who are homeless and/or victims of domestic violence.
Dwelling Place helps to improve lives in our community by creating quality affordable housing, essential support services, and serves as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization. For more information go to www.dwellingplacegr.org
