Grand Rapids, MICH (WOTV) - I often find myself thinking that I will slow down and be able to take a "break" right after (insert current goings on here) are over. But then there always seems to be something else that comes up and takes my time and attention. This can go on and on until my body will physically "force" me to take a breather by signs of illness.
This year I am starting out right and booked a getaway that was not so far away at all. My daughter and I decided to spend some time off together in Northern Michigan; Petoskey.
We stayed at the Bay Harbor Inn and booked the Spa Freedom 555 package. This was a great deal as it offered us 2 nights stay complete with breakfast daily for 2 and $555 in spa credit. Perfect mother daughter fun right? When we arrived we opted for a Foot Ritual which was a very nice foot and leg massage with exfoliation and moisturizing treatments. It seems we are off to a great start on the relaxing end of things, I almost feel asleep during the treatment. The next day we both enjoyed a massage and followed that up with facials. Not only were the treatments divine but the spa atmosphere itself was a treat. From the locker room to the "quiet room" every detail was thought of. We had tea and fresh fruit offered in between treatments and sat in plush robes by the fire.
Coming home I felt as refreshed as if I had taken a week off plus I didn't even have to fly to some exotic location.
When I am rested, I am well. When I am well and rested I am able to operate at my full potential. Its important to all of us to take a little time for yourself now and then. You deserve it.
