GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - February is Women's Heart Health month and the best way you can reduce your risk of a heart attack is to talk to your doctor about your health and your lifestyle. Dr. Rene Elderkin from West Michigan OB/GYN shares this tip to reduce your risks.
Dr. Elderkin's Advice for all women:
Heart disease is the number one killer of women. Regular exercise helps control high blood pressure, weight, and cholesterol levels, all of which increase the risk of heart disease.
Option 1: Try to get 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity
OR if you have less time to get active increase your intensity during your workout.
Option 2: Try to get 20 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity
